THERE WAS MORE THAN ONE COLLIERY IN PEGSWOOD. THERE WERE CERTAINLY THREE AND MAYBE MORE. THE PHOTOGRAPH BELOW SHOWS THE MAIN, AND LAST COLLIERY BUILT IN 1868 AND DEMOLISHED IN 1969. THIS IS PEGSWOOD COLLIERY AS IT WAS IN ITS EARLY DAYS.
